Contemporary Berber carpet, hand-knotted around 1977 in the style of Beni Mrirt, Morocco.
The central symmetry of this rug is reminiscent of an axis — a symbol of inner order, orientation and clarity. The minimalist style underlines the deeper spiritual orientation and creates space for focus and intuition.
Ideal for workspaces, meditation rooms, or places of mental focus. “Axis” brings visual peace and structural clarity, which is particularly effective in clear, minimalistic interiors. A rug for everyone who values conscious lines, inner balance and aesthetics in everyday life.
We deliver worldwide — free of charge. Each rug is shipped safely and insured from our warehouse in Austria. Depending on the region, the delivery time is approx. 2 to 10 working days. Customs duties may apply outside the EU and are to be borne by the recipient.
“Axis” refers to the principle of the middle — to an imaginary axis that is regarded in many spiritual traditions as a symbol of orientation, collection and cosmic order. The clear lines at the center of this rug invite you to find your own inner focus — in the midst of life's movements. In Amazigh culture as well as in other spiritual systems, the number 7 to which this rug is dedicated stands for intuition, clarity and a deeper connection to the spiritual world. “Axis” is reminiscent of rituals of centering, meditation, prayer, silence. It not only aligns rooms, but also thoughts and energies — like a fine, woven North Star for the home. A rug for people who live, think and design consciously.
“Axis” was traditionally handcrafted around 1977 — a unique piece from the Beni Mrirt region of Central Morocco. The workmanship on a vertical loom is evidence of classic Amazigh craftsmanship. The structure is dense and finely structured, with slightly raised areas that create a subtle feel. Particularly noteworthy is the symmetrical lines along a central axis — a design element that conveys peace, concentration and focus. The pile is medium-high, warm to the touch and only subtly reflects light — ideal for rooms with a clear design language, reduced aesthetics or meditative function. The colouring is kept in natural shades and untreated — pure virgin wool without chemical dyeing.
Nomades7 is more than a brand — it is a curated collection of individual textile pieces with origin, attitude and soul. Each rug is made entirely by hand by Berber women in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains. Alexander Heritsch selects these pieces locally — not based on their appearance, but on the basis of energy, symbolism and history. We believe that spaces need more than beautiful things — they need meaning. That's why we don't sell mass-produced goods, but woven time. Each piece is unique that not only lies — but also works.
And that a hand-knotted rug doesn't just lie — it stays.
